Ingredients & sourcing

Good care beginswith what goes in.

One ingredient, explained plainly — and a clear record of what we can and can’t yet verify.

Castor plant with star-shaped serrated leaves and spiky green seed capsules in afternoon light

The castor plant

Ricinus communis, seed to oil.

Castor oil is a botanical oil derived from the seeds of the castor plant. It is known for its thick, rich texture and has long been used in cosmetic routines for skin, brows and hair.

The seeds are pressed mechanically, without added heat, to release their oil.

  3. 03

    Filter

The oil is filtered to remove solids, leaving a thick, pale-golden oil.
